Features of 3-phase 320kVA Amorphous transformer

The MBT 3-phase Amorphous Transformer (another name is a high-efficiency amorphous core transformer) is a type of magnetic core transformer made of amorphous steel.

The machine's amorphous steel is magnetic steel with a thickness of only 1/10 of the traditional silicon steel and has high magnetic conductivity and low loss. Distribution transformers manufactured by MBT with a magnetic core made of amorphous steel have a no-load loss rating of 1/4 to 1/3 of conventional silicon steel transformers. At the same time, the temperature in this amorphous steel core is low, which will significantly reduce CO2 emissions into the environment.

If a traditional corrugated core transformer consumes about 9,000 kWh of electricity/year, the Amorphous transformer consumes about 2,000 kWh of electricity/year. For example:

  • With an ordinary 630kVA transformer, only No-load loss Po = 787W, 6.894kWh is lost annually
  • With 630kVA Amorphous transformer, only the no-load loss Po = 270W, 2.365kWh is lost per year

The Amorphous MBT 3-phase distribution transformer, although its cost is 20-30% higher than the transformers using silicon steel core, but in return, the machine's life is up to 30-40 years. The cost saved is a lot like the cost of maintenance, the cost of fixing the errors.

 

The Amorphous machine's operating temperature will also be lower than that of other devices, which significantly reduces the amount of CO2 emitted into the environment, contributing to saving electrical energy, protecting the environment, and meeting market demand.
